UN Statistics Division, Department of Economic and Social Affairs, in 2008 there were 6,829,360,438 people living in the WORLD. (Almost 7 BILLION PEOPLE)
Approximately half of this population (3.5 BILLION) is women and girls. ****Please note this number does not reflect men who are also reading our magazine.****
Encompass is targeting these women, girls and men with our "get healthy, stay strong" messages. Encompass has been commissioned to reach our readers and to send them healthy messages on how to enrich their lives in the best possible way.
If our feedback is any indication, it's working. Our global sisters have taken the torch from our pioneer women who village by village spread their messages. As women today, we enjoy the privileges our pioneer women have fought for, and now we continue to carry their torch to new and better heights.
We at Encompass are one of the forerunners of going global with our message. Women in U.S., Australia, Turkey, China, Russia, Canada etc. are using their tablets to read what we are saying. Very exciting for us all.
We live in an incredibly strong global environment with the Internet. It has been said because of the Internet, our world is increasingly getting smaller. I, the Editor, live this saying everyday with my job. We network to get our message out and it is working. Today, linking up with other websites, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, just to name a few, has significantly increased our volumes in every way.
According to Adobe, 9,000 magazine apps were in the market as of October 2012, that is twice the number from a year ago, with 40 million issue downloads. It will be interesting to see what the numbers will be this time next year. Bottom line, today, we are just touching the proverbial tip.
